Implants (pellets) are the size of a grain of a rice. When a pellet is administered to a patient, it is inserted in the fatty tissue, allowing hormones to be directly released into the bloodstream without having to pass through the skin or the digestive system. Because your body regulates how the pellet dissolves, the dose will be constant and available as needed.
